Primary Mission Objectives
The primary mission objective is to hold the 2009 STARFLEET International Conference in Greensboro, NC from Thursday, August 7th through Sunday, August 10th at the Greensboro-High Point Marriott Airport hotel.
CONFERENCE THEME
“One Small Step, One Giant Leap” has been selected as the official theme for the 2009 International Conference. The conference will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the landing of man on the moon, as well as the 35th anniversary of STARFLEET: The International Star Trek Fan Association, Inc.
The genre will be that of all things Apollo 11 and NASA, with the added touch of STARFLEET and its history. In support of this theme, our goal is to present a relaxed atmosphere of class befitting the signifigance of the dual anniversaries.
We also wish to allow our guests to participate in this theme to their own desired level. The relaxed nature of our theme will allow us to portray an atmosphere of a party by STARFLEET for STARFLEET.
The outdoor party area will be the site of the Friday night opening ceremonies and mixer.
OFFICIAL CHARITIES
As our charities we have chosen the STARFLEET Scholarship Fund, and the funding of one scholarship to Space Camp at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL.
